Seeking support whether through friends, family, church, or a licensed mental health provider can provide great benefits. At times we do worry about burdening others with our “problems” but also feel a sense of shame or embarrassment when seeking professional support. There is nothing shameful about asking for help. In fact I’ve learned myself that I’ve found strength in vulnerability. Please know that there is support within close reach for whatever you may be experiencing. I’m a firm believer of “you’re probably not the first person to be experiencing this.”
If you are experiencing a crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741741.
