How to Conduct a Colorado Business Entity Search

Search Colorado Business by Name, Trademark, or Trade Name

Step 1

Go to This Webpage and use the first blank bar to input your information. You can search by either the business name, trademark, or trade name. Enter the information in the blank space available and then click the “Search” button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2

You will now be given a detailed list of the entities that have the name you searched. You can gain further information about these entities simply by clicking on them.

The information that will be presented to you simply from the results page is as follows:

• ID number
• Document number
• Name
• Event
• Status
• Form
• Formation date

Step 3

Here you will be able to review a summary of all the information available to the public concerning your entity and will be given access to a number of other functions such as purchasing a Certificate of Good Standing.

Colorado Name Search by ID or Document Number

Step 1

Go to This Webpage and enter the ID number or document number in the second blank field available. This will be smaller sized bar just below where it asks you to enter the “Business name, trademark or trade name”.

Once your information has been entered, click the Search button at the bottom of the screen to conduct your search.

Step 2

You will be presented with the search results where the below information will be presented to you. Click on the ID Number, to access to the business details page.

Step 3

All business information available to the public will be presented on this page. You will also be able to perform a number of tasks by using the links found under the business summary windows.

Colorado Name Advanced Searching

Step 1

Go to This Webpage and click the Advanced search link that is located about midway down the page.

Step 2

On the following page to provide as much information as possible in order to narrow down the results of your search and find the entity in question as quickly as possible. When ready, click Search.

Step 3

You will then be directed to a results page that offers information about the businesses that match the contents of your search. You can click any of these results for more detailed information.

Step 4

A summary of all the information on file with the Secretary of State that is available to the public will be presented on this final page. You will also be able to view the filing history, get a Certificate of Good Standing and perform a number of other tasks.
